In September 2015 together with Eveline, Najjar and Kedher I started Elk Gooisch Matras Komt Van Pas.
A voluntary project to collect clothes and home furniture for refugees in my home town area. We have helped a lot of families feeling at home in our beautiful country, but also with voluntary work to learn Dutch and show there talents. Recently we have started Broedplaats Gooise Meren to create a more meaningful workspace to practice language, grow working skills and start own business opportunities. We are now woking with the local government in helping unemployed people in Gooise Meren.
What I love about this work is that it’s so hands-on. Inventing and managing the organisation, work processes and communication tactics. And helping entrepreneurs and their families to thrive and be independent of government welfare.
